History: Kiran grew up on Marmo within an elven tribe and has been badly affected by Kardis's residual darkness every time he goes there. For the first 250 years of his life, he was a terror. He was lustful and slept with any woman willing, fought, partied and generally pissed people off. When he was 251, he angered his tribe by breaking the heart of the elder's daughter and was banished for a century from his tribal lands. He took advantage of this to explore Lodoss and once away from Kardis's influence, he began to see things clearly. However, during his travels, he discovered how despised his race was. He searched Lodoss for year, looking for a place that would accept him and he finally found the free city of Raiden. Not to far outside the city was a settlement set aside by dark elves where they could live in peace, far from Marmo's corruption and the prejudice of most Lodossians. In this village, Kiran met a young dark elven woman, Zira, with whom he quickly fell in love with. Zira and Kiran's relationship lasted twenty years until Kiran began to feel trapped in it. Soon, a new woman moved to the dark elven community in Raiden, Mia. She was half-common and half-dark elf mercenary as well as attractive. Kiran began to fall for Mia now, but feared hurting Zira. For a short time, he carried on a relationship with both Mia and the ever-withdrawing Zira. Unfortunately for Kiran, both women soon figured out what was happening and he left Raiden, escaping from the volatile situation as soon as possible. He drifted around Lodoss for awhile longer, finding no place he wanted to be. Light elves as well as humans rejected him where ever he tried to stay and he had no interest in finding a 'human' job. Eventually, he returned to Marmo and lived in Salbad, working with a dark elven gang of outcasts where he met Jaron, Bandor, and Derim. Nearly 30 years later, Kiran met Mia on Marmo. He defended her from several other dark elves and took her to his home for protection. She told him she was looking for her father and he decided to help. After a few months of searching, they discovered her father had died and Mia wanted to return home. Kiran finally felt content again with Mia and couldn't bear to see her leave. He asked her to stay but she refused, so he forced her to stay. With the aid of Jaron, Bandor, and Derim, he succeeded in keeping Mia to himself for a year and he has the scars to prove it. During this time, the War of the Destroyer's Resurrection was fought, but Kiran and his friends stayed out of it. They sat by while the human populace evacuated Marmo and through Kardis's resurrection. However, Mia eventually escaped. With the help of another dark elf, Fou-Lu, she defeated Kiran and his gang. Kiran, still intoxicated by the darkness of Kardis, vowed revenge on Fou-Lu and left Marmo after Mia and Fou-Lu. Kiran ended up in Kanon while Mia and Fou-Lu were in Roid. He searched the town and found no trace of the two so he continued to Roid. Along the road, he encountered the common elf Naclia and the Mossian knight Talen. Trying to hide from them, Kiran summoned a cloak of invisability spirits. Yet Naclia was a ranger and trained to sense such spells. She counted his shield and subdued him, intending to take him to Roid to be deported for being a rogue Dark elf. A little ways down the road to Roid, and earthquake hit and they watched from the beach as dark clouds gathered over Marmo once again. Then impossible as it was, they witnessed an undead Narse fly overhead. No longer was Kiran a prisoner, but just as frightened as his captors. They hurried onward to Roid, hoping for a safe haven if needed. Yet, along the way, they met up with Fou-Lu and Mia. The two dark elf men dueled shortly, then another earthquake hit, knocking them to their feet. Undead started to rise everywhere and dark clouds gathered over Lodoss as well. Joined by their plight, Kiran and Fou-Lu halted their duel for the time. The two groups melded and fought their way to Roid where they found sanctuary. When the entered the city, they were greeted by a lovely dark elf merchant, Moryssa. The group dismissed her, but Kiran kept an eye on her. While everyone else found an inn, Kiran split away from them to explore, and possibly meet that lovely young elf. Mia was no longer his concern, there were plenty of women out there. Fou-Lu could have her; in Kiran's eyes, she'd become more trouble than she was worth. Kiran found Moryssa later that night, just after being robbed by a common elf theif. Kiran tried to help her, yet ended up distracting her when the theif hurled a knife at her. Moryssa's friend centaur, Friar, unfortanately, took the knife and died defending her. Moryssa cursed Kiran and ran off after the elf for vengence, getting herself caught in a trap and nearly killed. However, Kiran freed her and at least injured the fleeing theif with a throwing knife of his own. Moryssa apologized for her harsh words and Kiran helped her take care of Friar's body. She took him in for the night, feed him and gave him a place to sleep. Personality: Though at many times in his past Kiran has been possessive, cruel and obsessive, these were products of the malevolent presence of Kardis. Kiran appears to easily succumb to chaotic influence. But away from a source of chaos, Kiran can be protective, honorable and thoughtful. Alignment: Chaotic Good or Evil, depending on the chaotic influence Quotes: "Where's that bloody emerald sword when you need it?" (Kiran to Toan) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Theme Song I'm Movin' On by Rascal Flatts I've dealt with my ghosts and I've faced all my demons/Finally content with a past I regret/I've found you find strength in your moments of weakness/For once I'm at peace with myself/I've been burdened with blame/Trapped in the past for too long/I'm movin' on//I've lived in this place and I know all the faces/Each one is different but they're always the same/They mean me no harm but it's time that I face it/They'll never allow me to change/But I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong //I'm movin' on/At last I can see life has been patiently waiting for me/And I know there's no guaruntees, but I'm not alone/There comes a time in everyone's life/When all you can see are the years passing by/And I have made up my mind that those days are gone//I sold what I could and packed what I couldn't/Stopped to fill up on my way out of town/I've loved like I should but lived like I shouldn't/I had to lose everything to find out/Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road/I'm movin' on/I'm movin' on/I'm movin' on
