Player Contact Information Real Name: Robert Richardson Y! Profile: berryranger ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Puzzle Age: 64 Birth Year: NRC 462 Gender: Male Race: Half-Common Elf, Half-Human Homeland: Outskirts of the Storm and Fire Desert Physical Description: Quick as a knife and just as beautiful, he is all angles and delicate lines. Puzzle's thin and sharp face carries a perpetual smirk and his green eyes flare and smolder to match his mood. His dark hair is sleek and usually tied back, reminding people of a cunning and overly playful otter. Of the three siblings, Puzzle most closely resembles their father, both in appearance and bravado but certainly not in heart. He is ashamed to be associated with the legacy of his father and has even gone to lengths to try and make amends for the damage done over the past hundred years. Clothing and Armor: Generally common and unobtrusive in faded greens, grays and reds. Lacking wealth, he makes do as he can and has learned to mend rather well as a result. His current garb is a far cry from his old costumes of brilliant red, blue and green but he has found that low-key is the word of the moment. Weapon: Countless small darts and throwing knives are hidden throughout his clothing, ready at a moments notice for a trick. His favorite toy, however, is his meteor chain: a 2m length of fine but strong chain with bright scarves hiding small weights on either end which can be twirled and spun about. If used gently, it can ensnare or disarm an attacker and ward off incoming blows. If used harshly, he can strangle from a distance, break bones and crack skulls as he lashed the ends out with devastating results. For special performances, he trades the scarves for wicks soaked in fuel and creates a spectacle of twin balls of fire spinning through the air. Height: 5'8" Weight: 115lbs Build: Slender, fluid and strong Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Green Skin Tone: Milk Fair Occupation/Class: Rogue, circus performer Weapons: Countless small throwing darts and knives but prefers his meteor chain Armor: Wool cloak that he uses to his advantage Items: Bedroll and bag filled with trinkets and toys such as juggling gear, lockpicks and shiny objects Magic System: Shamanist Shamanist Level: 1 Special Summons: None Magic Items: None Enchantments: None Special Abilities: He has an inherent knack for object manipulation Affinities and Proficiencies: Gifted at manipulating objects, nearly fearless and loves nothing more than showing off new tricks to an adoring crowd, can be stubborn as all hell. Naturally attuned to fire elemental magic but is completely untrained. All he knows is that he finds comfort in the whisperings of flames. History: A little over half a century ago, a rogue of an elf attached himself to a traveling circus on the outskirts of the Fire Desert. A scoundrel at heart, he fit in well with the rag-tag troupe but he soon proved too costly to tolerate from the bills at taverns to the brawls in the alleyways. He was cast from the troupe but not before one last liaison with one of the performers. Soon, The Foolish Drakes Fire Circus found their numbers improved by one. The mother held off from naming her son until he gave her reason to. When the time came, she named him Puzzle for the way that he puzzled over objects. Of course the jugglers were delighted and he learned to juggled before he could talk. Puzzle lived a hard life, a nomad's life, a joyous life. They traveled all around the desert, delighting crowds and arousing suspicion from the local constables as is the fashion of all performance troupes. Puzzle soon mastered all the forms of object manipulation. He excelled at juggling, knife throwing, swinging and twirling and loved nothing more than drinking in the adoration of the crowd while standing in a wreath of fire. Living with a roguish band, he also grew skilled at roguish arts such as pickpocketing and burglary. Only from those who deserved it, however. That was his rule. Only from those who could stand the loss and only to those who had earned the gain! His light fingers kept an empty stomach at bay on more than one night. One night, however, a trick went horribly awry. The fireball crashed and killed members of the troupe and audience alike. The constables, always looking for an excuse to lock them down, were surprised at how forcefully their wishes were fulfilled. The surviving members of the troupe were banned and forbidden from ever performing again. The circus fell apart soon after. Despairing, Puzzle wandered South, taking odd jobs and odd comments. In certain towns, one or two old folks would remark as how he reminded them of a troublemaker elf that came by years ago. His curiosity got him and he discovered he was walking the same route his father did all those years before. Puzzle made a game out of it and tracked the way, taking him as far South as Moss. Then the world fell apart. Hideous things rose and poisoned the land with their touch. He fought some but mostly he ran and lived. One morning he met a young noble lady who was lost on the road and nearly shaking from panic. Queer curiosity overtook the both of them and they became traveling partners. They soon pieced together their common heritage and decided to travel North in an attempt to uncover more about the scoundrel that sired them as well as trying to escape the dark chaos enveloping the land. They discovered tales of their eldest sister, a malcontent who forsake a life in the village and was swallowed by the forest before Puzzle was even born. Still, they investigated and pieced together her recent departure from the wilds and are following her trail as best as they can. Personality: For as cocky and confident as Puzzle appears, his act belies a desperate need for adoration and acceptance. In lieu of an audience, he'll amuse himself easily enough but will soon seek out anyone he can find from not being comfortable enough with his own company. He is truly a good and compassionate person but his morals are rather flexible and adapted to the situation rather than being hard and fixed. Regardless, he understands that to receive the love he craves, he has to love in return. He never hesitates to pull a flower from behind the ear of a weeping child or invigorate weary soldiers with a pulse quickening display of torch juggling. With Puzzle desperate for adoration and Willow needing to care for things to justify her existence, the two of them make a classic co-dependant partnership. To contrast the three siblings, Puzzle would pull a flower from behind Willow's ear. Willow would be delighted and want to carefully press and save the flower. Berry would possibly try to eat the flower. To compare the three siblings, they are all incredibly strong willed and impossibly stubborn if they don't agree with how things are progressing. They compliment each other, any two having the strengths that the third lacks, and may be quite a formidable power if they learn to work together. Hmph. Fat chance.
