Zaole was frustrated, yet still kept her cool. Since the battle ended, she was praised as a hero, yet the two she had come to know as friends were shunned. In the desert, every possible skill an individual had was put to use if it could help the tribe.

Zaole had refused the position of steward, explaining to the mayor she was only a traveling warrior. She accepted her payment for the battle, along with fond regards from mayor, wishing she would stay just a little longer.

Later on, she witnessed the conflict between Terelyn, the mayor and the soldiers. The woman was hotheaded, but she was still lacking the respect she deserved. Zaole placed her spear between the soldiers and Terelyn, then stepped in between them herself, holding her spear ready. "Let her be, we will leave," Zaole said, then turned to Terelyn and spoke coolly. "You shouldn't waste your time with these men. We did our job, now it is time to leave."

Smolgar drank a little from his bottle of wine and stood up, moving to the men, Terelyn and Zaole, he got his axe with his right hand and said "Well, you thankless bastards... many of you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for us, because you are a bunch of weak lil' children, if Terelyn agrees, we will leave, but if I see you again trying to stop me from doing something I will kill you... your ignorant and stupid way of thinking about magic and other things just shows how dumb you really are, I can say... if you want us as your enemies I won't stop you...". He thought about killing some of them, Smolgar wasn't a crazy murderer so he kept himself away from the anger, the soldiers were just obeying orders, the one that should pay was the mayor, and the officer who defended him. Then he kept talking "I was friendly with you people but now... I will just let you die stupid and weak, because like that you won't get to anything". He noticed what he said was pretty useless but he showed the people that he couldn't care less about their crappy village and their stupid lives.

Terelyn grinned at her friends. It seems some people were intelligent enough to travel with her." I won't leave until I get paid in full," she said, folding her arms. "And note, lieutenant, your army doesn't fly. You can't track someone you cant see or follow tracks from. So yes, I could get away from your army easily." She smiled again. "Mayor, give me my money, or give me your lieutenant's head. Both would be satisfying."

Zaole turned to the mayor with a look of outrage on her previously calm face. "You did not even pay her?!" Zaole demanded, storming towards the man. She was just as tall as him, if not even a little taller, and to intimidate him more, she managed to make herself look even taller than him. "Have you no honor? You hired her for your services, just as you hired me. She defended your village, just as I did! You will pay her and then we will leave!" Zaole was not taking no for an answer. Did these people have no concept of honoring their word?

The Mayor spun on his heel. "She has endangered EVERYONE in the village with her flagrant, perverse twisting of nature!" He took a breath to compose himself and resumed somewhat more calmly, "It is obvious that your allegiances are to your purses. Though our treasury is lean, take your payment and leave. No price is too high to be rid of this trouble." The mayor drew out a pouch of coin and throws it down into the dust before turning his back, saying, "Go and leave these lands in peace," and walking away.

Zaole sneered contemptuously at the mayors back. Were all westerners so afraid? Or was it only recent events? Her sneer faded and she just shook her head as she leaned down to pick up the purse of Terelyn and Smolgar's pay. She bounced it in her hand a few times as she walked back to her companions, beating the dust out of it, then dropped it in Terelyn's hand. "Now we have what we need, let's go. These soft-hearted westerners are giving me a headache," she muttered.

Smolgar waited for Zaole to speak and said "So, you will be coming with us?". He looked at the mayor and the people in the place, all of them were concentrated on Smolgar, Terelyn and Zaole. Smolgar moved to the table where he was drinking, he put his axe on the floor took his backpack and took his axe again, moved back to Terelyn and Zaole, ignoring the people around him, and said "I will wait outside... if there's a fight call me...". He went to the door, looking at each of the soldiers on the way and then he left the place and sat on a barrel that was close the the front wall of the building.

Terelyn grasped the pouch and opened it. She grinned. She walked over to the mayor's desk and took a small ornament. Before the guards moved, she held her hand out. "He is off on his payment to me. He paid me less than he promised. So I will take care of my own bill," she said. She slipped the ornament into the pouch and walked off. He would give what was promised.

"Friend, lets hit the road," Terelyn said, waving to the water woman. She was looking to be quite a nice companion.

Zaole found her white cloak again and wrapped it around herself. With a heavy and disappointed sigh, she walked with Terelyn out of town. She held onto her cloak tight and pulled her hood over her head, shivering just a little from the cool autumn air. "I would have liked to stay a little longer," Zaole admitted as they passed through the gates. "Just to find a tailor to make me new clothes. But I could not stand the way they treated you. Westerners are so easily manipulated when they are afraid."

"Don't worry about that," Terelyn said. "The next town has an old friend of mine. He can point us to the direction of a good tailor who works cheap," Terelyn offered. As much as people despised her, she had as many old and underground friends who would be willing to help her out with a word. Some of these guys weren't good people, but they were people with money, and that was what mattered.

Virgil and the growing amount of soldiers followed Zaole, Smolgar, and Terelyn outside of the building, they continued the pursuit until the boundaries of town, and the watched very closely as the group of mages left. They were prepared to fire if they turned back around. When they were out of sight Virgil placed two soldiers at the boundary and began to make his way to the camp. He would make his report now. They had to be prepared, just in case the mage decided to return and prove that she was homicidal.

He approached his commander's tent and straightened hims garb out. Best to look presentable, even in war, it was probably not a good idea to give the report to a superior officer if one could help it. "Excuse me sir, I have my report for the incident involving the goblins and the mages. May I report sir?"

Rashid and his companions had been attacked at night as they slept, half drunk of course. They were slaughtered in their sleep, But only Rashid and another had awoken, seeing their friends killed still eyes closed. Rashid was able to kill one as the rest had fled, advancing towards the town. Rashid had left the camp site asking the other survivor to stay and watch their fallen comrades. Rashid left for the town, but everything was over, it seemed like nothing happened. Rashid slowly walked towards the town square, half-spear in hand, there was no one there.

"Where is everyone?" Rashid asked himself.
