He waited until they were out of earshot of the humans before he started talking, but he wasn't sure what to say, so he decided to explain what he knew. "I really don't know much about my father," Aiden started, while scanning the forest floor for fallen branches.

"He and my mother were together for a short while. She told me a little of what he chose to share with her. What I do know is that he was a few hundred years old when they were together, and he had married a human woman centuries ago when he was young. My mother said he was afraid of marrying another human because he didn't want to go through the pain of out-living her. She said they were considering getting married, because she was an elf, but things didn't work out. They began to argue constantly and after a particularily bad conflict, he left and never returned. My mother was pregnant and didn't even realize it when he left. When I was born, she named me after him. Now, I think I know why he left. I daresay, my mother is very obsessive and clingy," Aiden murmured, sounding annoyed. It reminded him of how glad he was to be out of the Mirror Forest.
Saga Askani wrote:Though they share the same father, the story itself has made Saga feel a stronger connection to Aiden. It was similar to his own, but now he wonders more about the mysteries of his father.

"My mother never really talks about how it ended. Or why he left. All I know is that one day, he just packed up and left. We all do not believe he knew she was with child. I wonder if father still is out there, I would like to find out one day and ask him."
"Well, that is one goal I would like to accomplish while I'm away from home," Aiden replied. "Perhaps we should join together in this goal, but in the meantime, I have another mission." Aiden continued looking for firewood as spoke with Saga. He picked up twigs and fallen branches here and there, though there was little dry wood to be found in the spring. The last thing he'd do was cut down a tree for firewood.

Saga turned quiet wondering about Aiden's current mission. For now he thought it best to learn more about his brother and his friends. Realizing there is a small amount of firewood he reached into his pouch and pulled out his hatchet and began to cut branches for wood. "Do not worry brother, I will get you all the firewood you require."

"No!" Aiden shouted as Saga began to chop at a tree. The elf grabbed his half-brother's arm in mid-swing. "{Ugh, humans are so clueless,}" he muttered in elven so Saga couldn't understand and he could get his complaint out at the same time. "Trees are home to spirits. Would you like it if someone started hacking up your home?"

Aiden pressed his hand against the bark of the offended tree. Small green lights began to appear, as if seeping out of the bark, but they were fairies passing out of the spirit realm to the material world. "See?"

The fairies began to investigate the damage and turned their attention to Saga. Being part elf, he would be able to sense their anger.

Saga has always had a keen sense of things around him but the spirits he saw gave him a strong intense feeling he has never felt, he stumbled for a bit before falling backwards. "What was that, i've never felt anything like that."

Aiden looked down at his brother and removed his hand from the tree. The fairies slipped back into the fae realm. "The spirits. They're upset with you for hurting their home," he replied.

Saga held his head adjusting to the emotions invading his sense. "I... I had no real idea... I mean, I've always felt bad for some odd reason cutting trees down... I didn't know spirits lived in it."

Aiden shook his head as Saga said he cut down trees in the past. "Well, I'll have to teach you about them, though they must already be rather upset with you for the damage you have done before."

He stepped toward his brother and offered him his hand to help him back to his feet. "Let's get back to camp, I think I heard some angry voices," Aiden said. He paused and his ear twitched. "And Kima is calling me."

Saga accepted the hand offered and quickly stood up. "Alright, well, I will rectify this problem with these... spirits... later on. We should hurry back to your friends then."

Aiden pulled Saga to his feet, then turned back to camp, tucking a small bundle of deadwood under his arm. It would have to do for a fire tonight.
