Eiyuu Kishi Den

If you're unaware, I'm starting a new project to assess and award characters for good play. Right now, I'm trying to figure out five nominees for the best male and female characters. So, I'm posting this poll for you vote on your favorite character in this plot.

I don't like voting for my own character in polls like this. After looking at the other characters, I narrowed down my favorites to Aiden, Naclia and Wilhelm. No surprises that they are the ones whom interact the most with Eliamn and show more presence in the plot... but meh, I'm selfish.

Choosing out of those three was harder. All are good characters, really.

First place came to Wil... mostly because it's hard not to notice the efforts Rory puts into not only roleplaying Wil, but also making it look like an interesting and creative bard. Having tried (and failed miserably) to play a bard in D&D, I can't help but really respect that a lot.

Although Eli gets much more along with Naclia, I decided on Aiden for second place. Aiden - despite the pitfalls Eli sees in him - tries very hard to care for his group and try to take the right decisions... and they often are hard ones. He's a character whom stands up very well for himself too.

While I like Naclia, I can't help but feel that any situation not putting her in with Talen to interact with has her look somewhat incomplete - sometimes, even Naclia herself seems to feel out of place. Then again, she's not bad but Aiden appears more self-motivated than she is in contrast. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting Naclia being easygoing into something else.

Anyhow, those were my thoughts.

Well, I'm glad you hold my characters in high regard. The poll for me is really a toss up of Eliamn and Wil, but more Eli. While Wil is an interesting character, I think Eliamn will probably make it to the final award round. She's one of my favorites in the whole of EKD because you put so much attention to detail into her play. Because of your focus, I'm better able to understand my characters from the point of view of others. When Eliamn had her huge list of complaints about Aiden, I was grinning after I read it because it made me feel so much more involved. I wish we had more players like you!

And yes, Naclia is easygoing. Playful, coy, mischievous, and easygoing. I'd say she's akin to an air elemental.
